Happy holidays, my wonderful Tartlets!
I'm going to keep this holiday message short and sweet because, well, it's a busy time of year and we all have things to do.
I have had a YEAR, Tartlets. In a very, very good way. Lots of things happened in 2024 that were beyond my expectations and that boosted my blogging and writing career and confidence. I'm super pleased with how the past 12 months have gone. I'll share more about that in...
Hello, Tartlets! I can’t think of a better day to start writing my holiday message.
I’m sitting in my festively decorated kitchen, watching the first snow of the season fall softly outside the window. Christmas music floats over from my Mormon Tabernacle Choir Holiday Pandora station, and there’s butter softening on the counter for the orange vanilla sugar cookies I’ll bake later.
If this scene doesn’t give you all the holiday feels,...
Hey there, Tartlets. So, yeah... I've been away a little longer than I anticipated. I was halfway through my traditional January blogging break when I realized.... I needed a longer break.
I won't bore you with the details of the last, oh, five months. All you really need to know is that I was away for three main reasons:
1) I was writing a novel, and it demanded my full attention
2) I'm recovering from spinal fusion surgery
3) I was...
Happy Holidays, my lovely Tartlets! Another year in the books. Ha! Get it? Books?
ANYWAY. This year has flown by. As always. But, as I sit here writing this, looking out the window at our first snowfall of the season... I'm pretty okay with it. It's been an interesting year, and I'm excited to see what 2023 brings.
Like in past years, I'm taking a little blogging break from now until February. You'll still see me loitering around...
Hello, Tartlets! Welcome to the birthday celebration for A Well-Read Tart. Four years ago today, I launched my food and book lover's blog. Four years ago today, I wondered what the eff I was doing and a bajillion questions ran through my head: Will people read my blog? Will people like my book-inspired recipes? Will internet trolls yell at me in the comments section? Will I still be doing this in six months' time...or a year...or two...
Hi Tartlets,
Apologies for the weird emails earlier this evening! No, the Tart did not get hacked. No, I've not decided to write my blog posts in Latin. We're in the middle of revamping the site, and we'd HOPED to keep it on the down-low until tomorrow morning, when we do the Big Reveal.
However, "the best laid schemes o' mice and men...," right??? **faceplam**
Also, thanks to my mom, who after those weird-ass emails went out at 7:41pm was...
Hello, my wonderful Tartlets, and happy holidays from me, #awellreadcat, and Mr Tart! Here we are again, another year down that's been, well... it's been kinda weird. And strangely quick; wasn't it just Memorial Day weekend, like, two weeks ago?? UGH. Where has the time gone??? I feel like I can't remember what I did this past year, but when I sit down and really think back alllll the way to 11 months ago, I realize quite a lot has happened to...
Well, Tartlets, by the time I sit down to write you my customary end-of-the-year-and-happy-holidays post, I usually know exactly what I'm going to say. This year, as one would expect from 2020, I'm lost for words. So, I'll keep this brief since I'm sure everyone has gift wrapping to finish up, or a Netflix show to un-pause, or work to pretend to do. Thank you, everyone, for being loyal Tartlets and for encouraging me in every step of my reading,...
Well, Tartlets. It's been A YEAR, as they say. Quite honestly, I'm not sad to see the back of 2019; it seemed to be cursed from the get-go. I shouldn't be surprised, though. Between writing my first novel and starting my blog, 2018 was pretty fan-freakin'-tastic. There's no other word for it. So, I thoroughly expected 2019 to be something of a let down in comparison. However, I didn't expect the shit show that would truly come my way this year....
HELLO to all my wonderful readers! (I kinda wanna call you Tartlets. Can I do that? If Taylor Swift can have "Swifties," maybe I can have Tartlets? Hmm. Will ponder this.) This has been a pretty exciting month for A Well-Read Tart: one of my pins for the Man-Catcher Cake went semi-viral, and I ended up receiving a record-high 5000 daily views at one point! That's pretty big news for the Tart, and, from what I gather, that's pretty big news in...
