Hello, Tartlets! I can’t think of a better day to start writing my holiday message.
I’m sitting in my festively decorated kitchen, watching the first snow of the season fall softly outside the window. Christmas music floats over from my Mormon Tabernacle Choir Holiday Pandora station, and there’s butter softening on the counter for the orange vanilla sugar cookies I’ll bake later.
If this scene doesn’t give you all the holiday feels, I don’t know what will.
However…. after I wrote my rough draft of this post? I took a break to start doing some chores, then bake cookies, and then I just got plain sidetracked and thought “It’s fine. I’ll finish writing it tomorrow.”
Then “tomorrow” came. AND, I GOT COVID.
After successfully dodging this freakin’ horrible virus for nearly four years, Mr Tart and I have finally gotten tagged. Which means, of course, that my lil’ Christmas-filled world and all its festive plans – including writing a long, lovely holiday newsletter — have come to a screeching halt because of how absolutely shitastic I feel.
So, while I’d planned for this holiday post to be lengthier, but I really only have the energy for the bare minimum this week. Forgive me.
I love you all, appreciate you all, and I cannot wait to connect with you again in 2024. I’ll be lurking on Facebook and Instagram over the next week or so, but I’ll largely be pulling back from blogging/socials until January. I’ll be posting new book reviews in January, but I won’t start posting book-inspired recipes again until February.
I hope everyone has a happy, HEALTHY, safe, and joyful rest of December, and I wish you a hope-filled started to 2024.
Peace, love, and carbs,
CJ xoxo
Hope you had a lovely Christmas, or least as lovely as Covid allowed! Here’s to a healthy 2024!
