Happy Holidays 2024!

Happy holidays, my wonderful Tartlets!

I’m going to keep this holiday message short and sweet because, well, it’s a busy time of year and we all have things to do.

I have had a YEAR, Tartlets. In a very, very good way. Lots of things happened in 2024 that were beyond my expectations and that boosted my blogging and writing career and confidence.  I’m super pleased with how the past 12 months have gone. I’ll share more about that in 2025.

Now, though? Ya girl needs a rest from the Interwebs, staring at screens, and, well, from thinking. Since I don’t have a back surgery or illness to contend with this holiday season (knock on wood!), I’m throwing myself into all the Christmas festivities. I’ve been to more holiday craft fairs over the past few weeks than I can count, and I started baking Christmas cookies this week. Soon, I’m going to be prepping desserts galore since Mr Tart and I are hosting a Dessert Open House for our friends on Christmas night. I’m also going to attempt to make homemade pierogies this year using my great-aunt’s recipes. Keep your fingers, toes, and eyes crossed for me that all goes well! (Or, just that it doesn’t go completely to shit. I’ll take that, too.)

As per usual, I’ll be taking my annual blogging break over the holiday and through January. To give myself a good, long rest, I’ll be absent from social media for Betwixtmas (the time between Christmas and New Year’s), and I’ll start posting on Facebook and Instagram again in January. New book review and book-inspired recipe posts will resume the first week of February.

I hope you all have wonderful and restful plans for the holiday season. My main goal is to spend Betwixtmas on my couch in pajama pants with a cuppa tea and #awellreadcat snuggled on my lap. There will be lots of time devoted to reading Christmas books, eating cookies, gazing at my Christmas tree, and binging Call the Midwife, which is my new TV obsession.

Wishing you a happy, healthy, and joyous holiday season and new year!!

Peace, love, and carbs,

CJ xoxo
