MURDER ROAD (Dark Side of the Word Podcast)

Hello, Tartlets and Darksiders! A new book club podcast episode is up on Dark Side of the Word. Join me and Kait as we discuss the supernatural/true crime novel Murder Road by Simone St James.

Honeymooners April and Eddie take a wrong turn onto the infamous Atticus Line in Coldlake Falls. When they drive past a girl on the side of the road, they stop to offer help, not realizing that the girl’s seriously injured.

They speed to the nearest hospital, and when the hitchhiker is pronounced dead, April and Eddie become the prime suspects for her murder – even though they didn’t have anything to do with her death. But the Coldlake Falls police have been investigating similar murders for the past 20 years, and they’re intent on catching themselves a killer, even if all the facts don’t line up – and even if it means a ghost, not a human, may be the culprit.

Kait and CJ discuss true crime in the horror genre, why Murder Road had no meat, and the latest trend in the book world.

*** BIG ANNOUNCEMENT***

You can watch us talk about Murder Road. That’s right, Dark Side of the Word is recording video on YouTube!

Come watch me mimic a deer in headlights while Kait tries to coax me out of my terror at being on camera. (I promise, I’ll get better at this.)
